Something as benign as a set of graphics – even ones as iconic as these – may not seem like a big business-building strategy at first.  But that’s the thing. There’s more here than meets the eye.

At face value, the project was a simple one. In 2002, I worked with a graphic designer to produce, inexpensively, 100 minibanners that would help coaches capture the attention of their clients. So what more is there to learn from the minibanners project?

                               
 

The banners reach beyond the market that was being served - the coach – and connect with coaching clients.  I call this ‘Serving Your Market’s Market’ and it was something demonstrated by the work we did at CoachVille and ThomasLeonard.com frequently, if not continuously.

As leaders in our markets, we care a great deal about our tribes. Even so, let’s speak the truth – often, members of our tribes can tend toward inaction or confusion. The easier we make life for them, the more concretely solution-oriented we are for them, the more value we provide. And the more their life vision can become real.

Part of what Thomas Leonard did during his too-short lifetime was teach coaches how to market and fill their practices. Teach the tribe to make money – that’s standard for every info-guru. But providing a collection of minibanners like this goes beyond teaching. It goes to giving coaches a direct way to achieve what they want easily – more coaching clients.
