It took a long time for the review copy of Michael’s fourth book to arrive in the mail. Michael joked that it got stopped at the Canadian border for being political propaganda…
While that may seem like an icky way to describe it, it’s accurate, at least in some respects.
Respect #1: It represents a big risk.
After sticking with some very tried-and-true arenas for his first 3 books…Book Yourself Solid, Beyond Booked Solid and The Contrarian Effect, this book is what many would consider a risk. It’s not a ‘how to’ per se. It has no direct connection to your bottom line. It’s an out-on-a-limb opinion piece shouted from the mountain top for the simple reason that Michael believes, wants you to know why and is entirely transparent about it.
Respect #2: It’s emotionally charged and authentic.
For that reason it will doubtless piss some people off. And it will make the blood move faster in the veins of some readers. If everything is energy, Michael has infused this book with his characteristic boldness, quality of character and fortitude. The result is a work that will challenge readers to overturn the status quo. You know that feeling you get when the trumpets blare and a call-to-arms is unleashed? That’s the sound effect that’s really needed here.
Respect #3: If it’s your kind of message, you will feel as if you’ve come home after a long time alone.
The reader reviews at Amazon demonstrate this rather remarkably. Clearly, Michael has tapped the conversation taking place in the minds of many to rise up and do something about the stuff that matters.
