Mind Mapping for the Budget Conscious

Do you mind map? For the uninitiated, a mind map is a visual representation of an idea and all of its components.

Many of us do mind maps on flip charts or paper. Andrea uses them frequently for her projects and books. Look, I found a fancy mind map of one of Andrea’s most popular presentations called ‘The Coaching Electric.” (Just click the image below to enlarge.)

While there some really good mind map software programs out there, many are somewhat costly. If you want to give it a whirl on the cheap, try http://www.bubbl.us/.

This web-based software lets you develop mind maps, save them as images, print or email them, and embed them in your blog or website. Used right, it’s a definite productivity tool that allows to get out of the ‘I’m stuck’ mode of product creation very quickly.

Faster, less painful, inexpensive births!

The site is basic and no frills, but easy to use. Try it and let us know what you think!

Hi, I loved the look of the map however found it a bit hard to follow. I like to start from a central theme and grow branches from there in a similar way to Tony Buzan and I have found that I don’t get the same “feel” for my project unless I do it manually on paper with coloured pencils which I feel brings in the right brain in a more tangible way.
