Andrea- the class was lovely While the bigger exercise is to think of what I'm working to hard on... which is usually... just THINKING itself- what first hit me was how we can work too hard by using the wrong tools, as well as too strong tools. I've posted about it on my blog-- http://beccacolao.typepad.com/beccacolao/2007/06/unwork_with_too.html

Hi Andrea, I love the creative way of your thinking. And I am going to make an affirmation out of your statement:

"We spend a lot of time looking for what could possibly might be a slightly better answer. But all the while we already have a serviceable solution"

Fantastic,we 're trying to be too smart. Unwork works better, unwork works faster!!
Best regards,
Karin Vrij

Hi Andrea,

a 30 minute call on Unwork - demonstrating the concept with a shorter call. great.

Hope this is where I'm to post my 'homeunwork'

Here are some of the places I plan to bring the concept to bear to add more flow to my life. BTW, I took the call today from the hammock of my 'outdoor office.' Seemed like the perfect setting for it.

My list:

My Ezine - Purposeful Pondering Ezine - been sending it out since 1999 and while I still enjoy it, it does become burdensome at times.

Marketing my book, LIFE ON PURPOSE: Six Passages to an Inspired Life. Seems like my publicist and I are having to work really hard to get me booked at book signings, and speaking engagements. time to rethink this, incorporating some of the great ideas Suzanne shared during the Business On Purpose call yesterday about blogging.

Telesamplers- time to cut back on these marketing sample calls and perhaps try some 30-40 minute calls.

Blogging - a want to revitalize the http://www.lifeonpurposeblog.com but from an unwork perspective.

Life On Purpose Community - it's currently is suspended and not even sure I want to bring it back and surely not in the way it was initially done. too much work.

Andrew

Let me throw in a second strange-canadian-australian bid for the edgy metaphor...

Or maybe we could all take a guess?

Nice. Think simple. Think good enough, especially when "better" might not be better or even exist. What a concept. (Now what is that secret metaphor?)

You sure hit the nail on the head with this post. I create more work for myself, always improving on "good enough" and then kick myself 3 hours later because I wasted so much precious time.
I'm going to print and post this on my wall as a reminder to stop at good enough and "Unwork" more of my day.
Thank you so much!!
