I saw a holiday Sears commercial just a few days ago, that showed a person checking off a list of people to give sears gift cards too. One of the people listed was “My Life Coach”.

This is brilliant. I wish I had seen the segment.

I did read the mention of coaching as a gift at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16184684/.

My only critique is that, according to the ICF, the average fee for coaching is $100.

Is this per hour, per session, per month? They do not make this clear.

Assuming it is per session/hour, doesn’t it seem to be a little misleading and a little on the low end?

Of course, the word “average” is a bit misleading anyway, but people tend to believe averages are reality or what is usual.

I wonder whether you or anyone else agrees that while this exposure is phenomenal and we must jump on this now, that at the same time this money piece doesn’t seem to really serve our profession.

Love how you put your energy and your enthusiasm around a great news story for coaching. Would love to hear more ideas about how other coaches can see leveraging this for greater benefit personally and for the profession.
