Does Orange + Pink = The New Green?
by admin
A brief invitation to a communal opportunity.
An important new book has recently come out by the author of the book ‘Free Agent Nation’ a groundbreaking book that has defined our times.
Dan Pink’s new book with bright Orange cover is particularly important to coaches when you read just a tiny excerpt:
>From ‘A Whole New Mind’ by Dan Pink
‘We are entering a new age. It is an age animated by a different form of thinking and a new approach to life—one that prizes aptitudes that I call “high concept” and “high touch.”
High concept involves the capacity to detect patterns and opportunities, to create artistic and emotional beauty, to craft a satisfying narrative, and to combine seemingly unrelated ideas into something new.
****High touch involves the ability to empathize with others, to understand the subtleties of human interaction, to find joy in one’s self and to elicit it in others, and to stretch beyond the quotidian in pursuit of purpose and meaning.***
When asked what he feels are the hot, right brain job growth areas for the near future, Dan replied:
‘…I can imagine growth in jobs for designers, artists, coaches, clergypeople, inventors, nurses — the sorts of jobs that depend on doing things that overseas workers can’t do cheaper, that computers can’t do faster, and that satisfy our growing spiritual, aesthetic, and emotional desires.’
If you feel this impacts you in some way, I encourage you to take advantage of a live webinar the author is hosting on April 7 at Noon, US Eastern Time.
Yes, this is tomorrow.

Courtesy of the software company, the webinar is no charge at all. This is fantastic way to get up to speed quickly on a theme that’s going to get traction deep and quickly, this summer.
In fact, you’ll hear from me more on this topic but let me say this for now:
I believe that in large part, the coaching profession and the progress its made the last year or two, is responsible for the fact that this book **exists**.
(Not to take anything away from the author of course. In fact, I think he would agree with me. I’ll let you know what he says.)
If you attend, be sure to let me know. I’ll be there too. Among other things, I’ll be connecting the dots and asking…
Does Orange + Pink = The New Green?
Now THAT would make for that wicked combination of money AND meaning, woudn’t it?
