I lost my temper

by admin

ear.gifRecently, I got a little sharp in my comments at a coaching discussion list. Here’s what I said…which earned a few tomatoes on and off list.

(If you stand for something, you’re bound to get some, so get used to it. Conversely…remember that if you don’t get any you’re probably not getting heard above the noise.)

What’s funny is the reaction of a friend, offlist, which I’ll paste at the bottom. Only fair to share the funny with the sharp, right?

Oh!

Quickly.

I definitely support a long sales letter and am not at all shy about
supporting it.

:-)

Why do you think I got so peeved that nearly noone on this list wants to measure the effectiveness of their promos? It all points to the same thing.

Coaches that want to succeed will look at results. Coaches that don’t,
won’t.

If you are averse to a long sales letter format, work on your own ‘who’ and figure out your own resistance. Not that all sales letters are good, and that some truly sleazy letters don’t deserve our scorn, or virtual middle finger!

But don’t let that stop you from figuring out for yourself what an ethical, authentic sales letter looks like (long, medium OR short…I don’t care)…as long as it sells your fantastic new coaching product.

You make a great point Milana about getting the wrong message from the posts on this topic, so I’ll go on the record. A good sales letter is one that sells, ethically. Not whether it is long or short. Or, for that matter, if it pisses some people off or not.

:-)

I know this was a bit sharp. I’m frustrated right now at how far I see we have to go.

Here’s a closing thought:

If a coaching product is created, and no one buys it…does it exist?

This reaction offlist from Scott was pretty priceless…it’s fun to discover who really gets it.

“If a coaching product is created, and no one buys it…does it exist?”

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You owe me a new keyboard… Just snotted my drink out all over it laughing.

Sincerely,

Scott
