Putting Workaholism Behind Me
by admin
Okay, don’t be offended.
But truly, working hard, I think, is for putzes. And I’m one of them.
Spending a few days with Dean and Sony Jackson has finally drilled it in my head. The entrepreneurial life is after all, all about freedom right?
Dean has two official days each month where he attends to telephone conferences. He travels at least once a month for a live event. And of course, the rest of the time he chooses when he will do what, and undoubtedly puts thought and consideration into work every day.
But he doesn’t work hard. He is so cool, so collected, and so successful and kind, as to make me embarassed I’m not more like him.
(Nothing against Dean! But really, during two enjoyable Floridian days they hosted Susan Austin and I as guests, I could see myself and my work habits reflected in him, and it wasn’t pretty.)
Workaholic tendencies are quite certainly genetic in my family. But I’m determined it will stop in my generation. I’ve written on my wall…
“BE LAZY!”
Having chosen that as an ultimate lifestyle experience I’d like to try, I’ll make decisions based on that each day for 30 days. We shall see what this brings.
Why?
Simple: Because as an entrepreneur, coach and online consultant, I can. And everything else can work around that.
